Tourism, the lifeline of Goa
Hello Everyone
I am Tanvi
I am sharing my views on the topic of Tourism, the lifeline of Goa
Goa has become a National as well as an International tourist destination. People from all over, come to enjoy our scenic beauty, our rich and diversified cultural life, experience the Goan hospitality and above all, marvel at the fact that people of all religions and customs live together in harmony in this tiny state of Goa.
The people of Goa too have benefited to a great extent from the constant influx of tourism. Our once sleepy, laid-back state has now become busy and bustling as people have realized the great potential in encouraging Tourism in Goa. A great deal of money has been poured into promoting Tourism, which today has become the lifeline of Goa.
From our famous beaches, to our monuments, places of worship, waterfalls, lakes, wild-life sanctuaries and so on, infrastructural facilities have been set up to a wide range of tourist from the very rich to the lower middle class. This has generated income for the industrialists, hoteliers and restaurants, which in turn has given employment to thousands of people in our state. Many enterprising Goans have even set up small eating places in their own homes or given out rooms on rent, to generate income. The number of vehicles, like tourist taxis, auto rickshaws and piolet motorcycles, not to speak of all kinds of luxury buses travelling within and out of Goa, has gone up hundredfold, to cater to the tourists. The opportunities open to the youth of Goa have been countless. Many youths now turn to Institutions connected with the Hotel industry, travel industry or tourist guide training wherein they are assured of jobs after graduation.
If Goans are judicious and wise in their handling of tourism, this lifelines of ours could continue to be a profitable source of income to the state for years to come.
Regards
Tanvi
